“Sustainable” is the term that defines the Riojan company Amando Loza S.A., when it comes to meeting SDGs 7, 12 and 13 of the 2030 Agenda.

Embutidos Amando Loza is committed to renewable energies. We have made two solar photovoltaic installations for self-consumption in the two warehouses we have in the municipality of Baños de Rio Tobía. The first one, located in the Alcantarilla industrial estate, consists of 375 panels of 285Wp and two 50kW inverters and the second one in San Juan street consists of 216 panels of 300Wp and 1 inverter of 60kW. The two installations have been co-financed with ADER funds (Economic Development Agency of La Rioja) files 2019-I-EM-00010 and 2019-I-EM-00009 and FEDER (European Regional Development Funds) to facilitate the energy transition by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing energy efficiency and protecting the environment and regional resources.

Since 2019, Amando Loza Alonso SA has implemented a green line on energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Indeed, with the installation by the Riojan company Ecotelia of 1520 m2 of solar panels spread over its 2 main facilities, our company now produces more than 276,162 kWh per year which is equivalent to 27,616 litres of diesel/m3 of propane, 71,802kgs of CO2 and 3,590 trees.

This project, which aims to reduce carbon footprints, is part of Agenda 2030, the sustainable development agenda launched by the United Nations in 2015.

17 goals to save the world

The Sustainable Development Goals give us the way forward to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They respond to the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, peace and justice.

Therefore, from Amando Loza Alonso SA, we are very proud to announce that this project started 2 years ago and allows us to achieve the objectives of this programme, namely:

  • Goal 7: Affordable and Non-Polluting Energy.
  • Goal 12: Responsible Production and Consumption
  • Goal 13: Climate Action

“Our company remains a family business, and it is in this spirit of benevolence towards the new generation that we have decided to improve our production system and thus contribute to the protection of our planet”.
